Help on copying and pasting text

 
  1. Using your mouse

    1. Holding the mouse, place the cursor immediately to the left of the first character of the text you wish to copy.
    2. 'Left click' the mouse (i.e. press down on the left-hand button of the mouse).
    3. Still keeping your finger pressed down on the left mouse button, drag the cursor across and down until all the text you wish to copy is highlighted.
    4. Release the left mouse button.
    5. With the text still highlighted, click Edit and then click Copy.
    6. The selected text has now been placed in the 'clipboard' and is available to any application that allows pasting.
    7. Open the file into which you wish to paste the text you have copied.
    8. Place the cursor immediately to the left of where you wish to paste the text you have copied into the clipboard.
    9. Click Edit and then click Paste.
    10. The copied text has now been pasted into your file.

  2. Using the keyboard

    1. Using the cursor arrow keys, place the cursor immediately to the left of the first character of the text you wish to copy.
    2. Holding down the shift key (and keeping it held down) highlight the text you wish to copy by continuously pressing on the cursor arrow key(s).
    3. Release both the shift key and the cursor arrow key.
    4. Press both the CTRL and C keys simultaneously.
    5. The selected text has now been placed in the 'clipboard' and is available to any application that allows pasting.
    6. Open the file into which you wish to paste the text you have copied.
    7. Place the cursor immediately to the left of where you wish to paste the text you have copied into the clipboard.
    8. Press both the CTRL and V keys simultaneously.
    9. The copied text has now been pasted into your file.
